I am so excited!!! The Wiz live is coming on NBC tonight. I have been anticipating this night for months. I remember watching the original in 1978. The Wiz is adapted from The Wizard of Oz(another favorite of mine). Let’s talk about the cast of the original:
Dorothy: Diana Ross, The Supremes, singer
Scarecrow: Michael Jackson, singer King of Pop
Tinman: Nipsey Russell, actor and singer on Broadway
Lion: Ted Ross, actor appeared in film and TV
Evillene: Mabel King, actress appeared in TV( What’s Happening!!) and Broadway
Aunt Em: Theresa Merritt, actor appeared in Billy Madison
The Wiz: Richard Pryor, comedian
Glinda the Good: Lena Horne, singer and actress, I remember her in Stormy Weather😊

What a amazing cast!! The music and choreography was a sight to see. I can’t count how many times I watched it. So tonight is going to be a treat. Ok we have to talk about the all star cast:
