Off to the Weihnachtsmarkt!

What Christmas Markets are…

~ Christmas Tree in Strasbourg ~

They’re basically alike to Flea Markets that a typical person may go to buy their groceries, except it’s only for Christmas! It all began back in the late middle ages and have been very popular since then. If you ever have the chance, you should definitely visit one and make it at the top of your bucket list. But as always, I’d love to share what I’ve gotten out of it.

Where To Go…

~ Street in Strasbourg ~

I know, there are so many Christmas Markets to visit: even just in Germany alone. Well, no fear! I have a Christmas Market or two that I recommend you should absolutely check out.

Strasbourg, France

~ Weihnachtsmarkt in Strasbourg ~

I can’t tell you how wonderful France is, let alone the Christmas Market. Not only do you get to see the beautiful decorations put on each street corner and drink hot chocolate that’ll surely warm every bone in your body, but you also get a taste of the French culture and it’s sense of history. (sidetone: if you speak little to no French, you’ll be just fine.)

Boblingen, Germany

~ Found some Christmas decor ~

It wasn’t as extravagant as the bigger Christmas Markets, but it was still just as pretty and enjoyable. Not only were there delicious sweets to snack on and cute little ornaments to pizzaz your house up a bit, there was also entertainment to stand and enjoy, such as a children’s choir and a band playing christmas carols for the crowd to enjoy whilst eating their crepes.

Esslingen, Germany

~ Yumm, Glühwein! ~

A great town filled with historic vibes! There were live performances, great to entertain the young ones and a carousel for the kids to enjoy while you drink a nice, hot glass of Glühwein. Appealing to hang around for the day and enjoy all there is to offer.

Make Sure To Go Next Year!

Something such as this may not be on the top of everyone’s ‘must-do’ list, but it’s such lovely experience to have with friends, family, loved ones. Just make sure to bundle up as temperatures tend to drop as the day comes to close and try not to go during the weekends as that’s when it tends to be most busy. All in all, just enjoy yourselves and all there is to see at the Weihnachtsmarkt!
